Recovery is not a launch. It is what happens between launches — the daily wearing-in of a thing until it looks like it belongs to you.
The word recovery has been taken over. Wellness cycles it through alongside IV drips and resets, and the apparel world repackages it as a drop. Neither version is the same thing as what we mean when we say recovery on a label like ours.
Our recovery is closer to a work-glove recovery. A leather strap that gets better with wear. A wool tweed crown that holds its shape season after season because the yarn was chosen for density before it was chosen for hand. A satin interior lining that keeps comfort consistent over years, not months. The piece accumulates character where cheaper construction accumulates loose threads.
There is no reset in a Still Swinging piece. Nothing about SS-001 suggests the season ends and the next one begins. The crown is structured on day one and better structured on day three hundred. The leather strap loosens imperceptibly over months until it sits exactly where you want it, and then it stays there. The monogram does not fade; if anything, the brushed gold reads quieter as the surrounding wool breaks in around it.
That is the recovery we are talking about. Not a moment of clarity after a hard weekend. The slow accumulation of use that turns a new cap into your cap. The kind of recovery a piece of clothing can actually do — and the kind we built SS-001 to do.
